MEDS is an operating system capable of upgrades. You can own either a Mercury OR Yamaha MEDS system with the purchase of the platform.

Then, purchase the engine upgrade you require. For instance, you may own the Mercury version of MEDS, P/N: 518-0118M, which tests most Mercury, Verado, Mercruiser engines. Now, you can upgrade to diagnose Yamaha outboard engines, P/N: 519-0119Y, giving you a completely new engine category within the base operating system of MEDS.
