2010 CDI Electronics, Inc. GREEN Program
CDI Electronics, Inc. has always been conscience of our fragile environment. We continue to focus on recycling materials as our way of “making a difference”!
To do our part, we recycle electronic parts, paper, cardboard, and more. Here are a few statistics based on our environmental recycling actions:
- New printed circuit board designs created by CDI Electronics are RoHS compliant (manufactured using lead-free solder)
- Our GREEN policy takes in those defective parts from the field and allows us to properly dispose of those products keeping them out of the landfills. This saves lead solder content (from the printed circuit board assemblies) and excessive plastics from contaminating the environment.
- Through 2009, CDI Electronics has recycled over 7 tons of copper, aluminum, and metals.
- More than a ton of plastic materials has been recycled.
- CDI Electronics packaging material consists of over 75% recycled paper products.
- Since 2007, we have recycled over 8 tons of cardboard.
- Over one ton of other recyclable paper products have been captured and recycled!
- CDI recycles 20 oz. plastic soft drink bottles for in-house use in some of our manufacturing processes.
- Ink and toner cartridges are being recycled regularly.
- Efficiency lighting is being installed throughout the factory to better conserve electricity.
- CDI has made a conscience effort to reduce the use of harsh solvents and chemicals typically used in degreasing / cleaning engine parts.
- We have even replaced our old shop floor mats with new shop mats made of recycled rubber from used tires.
We feel that these small actions make a big difference in helping our environment.
